Install and connect

  1. In BlueSky Pro, open Settings → App passwords, create a password for WordPress, and copy it while it is shown.
  2. In WordPress, open Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Choose the downloaded ZIP, install it, and activate it.
  3. Open Settings → BlueSky Pro Poster. Set the address to https://bluskypro.com, enter your handle without the @, paste the app password, and save.
  4. Click Test connection. Continue after it confirms the connected BlueSky Pro account.
  5. Choose the post types to share and leave auto-post enabled. The “Share this post” checkbox on an individual WordPress post lets you opt that post out.

How the posting queue works

  • On its first run, the plugin queues eligible published posts that have not already been shared, oldest first. Newly published posts are added too.
  • It attempts one queued post every 60 minutes. The first attempt happens 60 minutes after the queue is discovered.
  • A post that fails stays at the front of the queue and is retried hourly. Fix the connection or post issue shown in WordPress so the queue can continue.
  • WordPress runs scheduled work through WP-Cron, which is triggered by site visits. On a quiet site, posting can happen later than the hourly interval.
Security: use an app password created for BlueSky Pro, not your normal account password. Keep the app password private. You can revoke it from BlueSky Pro’s App passwords settings.
